Tara Street | LEFT BRAID: logic & emotion weaver / method-making solver
Kathleen Shannon | RIGHT BRAID: look & feel shaper / work & life sharer
Liz Fabry & Kristin Tate | SIDE BRAIDS: art & copy / calm & cool / helpers & guides
We are Kathleen Shannon and Tara Street. And, yes, we are sisters. We’re no strangers to the overlap of personal and professional in the life of the independent business owner. But what we know to be even more universally true, is when you add “creative” in front of “entrepreneur,” the adventure gets exponentially more exciting – and inevitably more chaotic, uncertain and unclear. Oh, you crazy creatives.
We began Braid to realize our own independence and combine our creative powers. Our background is in advertising and freelance, designing and writing, blogging and consulting. So, yes, we’ve created work that is emotional, beautiful, and branded. But that work, beautiful as it may be, is a byproduct of being able to “see.” We see big – all the threads of a creative business – and then we get small, get narrow, and help creative entrepreneurs get focused.
How to describe Kathleen and her adventurous world view from smack dab in the middle of America? See her personal blog Jeremy & Kathleen. How does this older/younger-sister (yes, Tara is the older) creative consulting dynamic work? See our Sister Act feature in We Like We Love.
Who We Work With

Creative Entrepreneurs:
creative consultants | writers & bloggers | independent small businesses & startups
We help them with their brand positioning, business vision and packaging their service. More about The Braid Method here.
Creative Firms:
design firms | photographers | videographers | print shops
We help them step back, take their own medicine, and make a point with their brand – all of the same things we do for other creative entrepreneurs above, with an added insight into their specific industry, trying to sell themselves, and striving to stand out.
Aspiring Creative Professionals:
freelancers | creative 9-to-5’ers (or more like 9-to-9’ers)
For creatives on the brink of taking the leap into self-sustaining creative entrepreneurship we take them through a coaching version of our method (it’s like the visioning minus the actual branding), but our Braid Ecourses are also a great resource for them, too.
If you think The Braid Method is a fit for you, email Kathleen at kathleen@braidcreative.com or Tara at tara@braidcreative.com for a look into how it works, what you get, and what it costs.
